I am Mirren Kessling, Priestess of the Stars: Sacred Celebrant of Avalon and Civil Celebrant. I create personalised ceremonies, contemporary rituals to offer meaning, purpose and connection.
My work is rooted in the desire to foster community and deepen connections with nature in contemporary Britain by bringing natural, ancient and sacred sites across the to life through ceremony.
With a background in researching sacred histories of the UK and nature-based spiritual practices, I felt called to become a priestess while working as an event programmer and facilitator in cultural institutions. My goal has always been to help people discover authentic, meaningful ways to connect with themselves and others.
Certified as a Sacred Celebrant of Avalon in 2023, and later ordained as a Minister of the Universal Life Church, I also hold a Level 3 Diploma in Naming and Couples Celebrancy with Civil Ceremonies Ltd. I create ceremonies to honor love, life transitions, new beginnings, and brave intentions. My ceremonies are designed to celebrate life’s moments and help people tell their stories.
In 2022 I started organising events to help people mindfully connect to nature around London through a programme of meditation walks and experiences to mark the changes in seasons. These seasonal events have taken place in London’s green spaces, in collaboration with cultural organisations and historic venues.
I became Priestess of the Stars in a ceremony in the waters of the White Spring underneath Glastonbury Tor in Somerset in 2023. The archetype of the star, to me, represents confidence, leadership and tranquility - all qualities I aim to embody in ceremony.
